The new colors of Noro Taiyo are here, and they are even more beautiful than I expected. This is Noro’s cotton and silk blend yarn in a worsted-weight. Come by the shop and have a look, but most of all, touch Taiyo. This yarn feels as beautiful and soft as it looks, thanks to its blend of 40% cotton, 30% silk, and 15% each wool and nylon. The cotton gives it tremendous softness, the silk ads shine and color saturation, while the wool gives it a great hand for knitting. The nylon is added for strength and durability. There are a generous 220 yards in each skein, and the colors this season are just gorgeous. Take a look at the photos below.
What to make with these fabulous yarns? Well just a few skeins will do an Adult Surprise Jacket, or an easy top-down cardigan like the February Lady. Since it’s the same gauge as Kureyon and Silk Garden, you have all of those pattern available to you as well. Jenny Watson and Noro both have new books full of wonderful designs for Taiyo and the other new Noro yarns arriving this spring.
