Flounce

A fabulous new yarn arrived in the shop – Flounce.  You probably saw it if you were in the shop last week.  Anyway, this gorgeous stuff is not at all impressive in the skein, but when you knit it, you open it up and it works into this incredibly soft, shiny, unbelievable, ruffled fabric.

One skein makes a beautiful scarf.  It knits up in just a few hours if you work on it steadily.  I finished mine today and threw it on over my plain white tank while I did my errands.  I was at the bank, CVS, and the grocery store, and at each place, a total stranger complimented my scarf.  That almost never happens.

Let me tell you something else that almost never happens:  My sixteen year old fashionista daughter said she loved my scarf.  I asked her, “Do you like it for me, your mom, or would you wear it for yourself? 

She answered as only a sixteen year old could, “For me, Mom – I can totally rock this scarf.”  And did she ever…

  1. I can’t blame your daughter for stealing your scarf! It’s beautiful! I wish that I could make a scarf like that! I don’t even know how to knit. I saw this blog entry while I was viewing the classes that you guys offer for beginners. My knitting goal is to, obviously learn how to knit. But also to learn how to make scarves, afghan blankets, cardigans, and a few other things. 🙂
